Joining us is straightforward.

Easy 6 step process
1
Get in touch

Contact our Admissions Manager for an initial conversation about Milbourne Lodge and how it might be a good fit for your child.

2
Visit us

We hold Open Mornings termly which are a great opportunity to see our school in action and speak to our teaching staff, Senior Leadership Team and current pupils. Should the Open Morning dates be unsuitable, we are able to offer Personal tours.

3
Apply

Register for a place at Milbourne Lodge by completing our registration form and paying the registration fee.

4
Assessment

Registered candidates are invited to come for assessment at the appropriate time.

In 2023-24 our assessments will take place on the following days:

  • Activity Time for 2025 Reception entry – Wednesday 15th May 2024
For late applications, or other entry points, Taster Days are arranged on an individual basis.

5
Receive an offer

Reception offers are sent within three weeks of your child's Activity Time. The offer acceptance deadline is three weeks from the date of the offer.

Offers for NCY3 (7+) places are sent out before the end of the Autumn Term. The offer acceptance deadline is the start of the following Spring Term.

For late applications and all other entry points, we will contact you within a week of the Taster Day.

6
Confirm your acceptance of the place

To secure your child’s place, simply complete and return the necessary paperwork by the deadline given, together with the £1000 Acceptance Deposit.

We will then keep in touch and invite you and your child to pre-joining events helping you to get to know us before joining Milbourne Lodge.

Further Information

  • For Reception entry, approximately 15 months prior to the appropriate entry date, we invite groups of children, who are registered for Reception entry, to visit the school and spend some time with the EYFS staff at our Activity Time session. This assists us in making a decision as to whether we feel Milbourne Lodge might be a suitable learning environment for them.

  • For NCY1 or NCY2 entry the child will be asked to come for a ‘Taster Morning’ during which an assessment will take place.

  • Priority is given to siblings of children already at the school, although this does not guarantee the offer of a place.

  • A report from the child’s current school or setting will be required before the offer of a place can be made.

  • Entry at 7+ is selective and our Admissions Test is held in the November before the year of joining.

  • The children are assessed in Maths and English, enjoy a brief tour of the School and an informal discussion with a senior member of staff. The children also take part in a games session with our sports staff.

  • Priority is given to siblings of children already at the school, although this does not guarantee the offer of a place.

  • As part of our admissions process a reference request will be sent to your child's current school.

  • For NCY4 to NCY8 Entry, children considering joining the school will be invited to attend a Taster Day during which they will sit our Admissions Test (English and Maths) and be observed during the day.

  • Priority is given to siblings of children already at the school, although this does not guarantee the offer of a place.
