Fantastic results in 2020 Intermediate Maths Challenge
1st March 2020The pupils in U6, M6, L6 and Form 4 Maths Set 1 all sat the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge in February. The top 40% of entrants nationally come away with an award, but since this is a competition usually taken by pupils in Years 9, 10 and 11, for our pupils to get an award in this competition is exceptional.

Milbourne Win U13 Surrey Plate Competition
25th November 2019The Milbourne U13 team were buzzing after the 6-1 home win against Cumnor House in the Semi-Final of the Surrey Plate Competition. This win guaranteed a 9.30am Plate Final against Thomas’s, Battersea on Saturday 23rd November.

Alfred Huberman Writing Awards 2019 - Lake District Holocaust Project
8th October 2019The Lake District Holocaust Project set up the award in consultation with the family of Alfred Huberman who was one of the 300 child Holocaust Survivors who stayed in the Lake District in 1945. In excess of 500 pupils submitted entries this year.

Outstanding Results in UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge
1st March 2019Years 6 to 8 sat the UKMT Intermediate Maths Challenge earlier this term and yet again the children have done remarkably well, given that the competition is designed for pupils in Years 9 – 11. To put it in context some of our 10 year old pupils were pitted against 16 year olds! We are very proud of all the pupils who took part.

Teatime Music Recital

Celebrating National Poetry Day 2018
4th October 2018We celebrated National Poetry Day on 4th October 2018 by reading, listening to and studying a number of poems. 3B treated us to a performance in assembly of some of the poems they had written, using the poem Russian Doll by Rachel Rooney as inspiration. Winners of the Michael O'Mara Books Personal Choice Award at the Global Canvas Schools Art Competition Finals
16th March 2018The finals of the David Shepherd Global Schools Art Competition – ‘Into The Wild’ were held at the Natural History Museum on Thursday March 15th. 4,500 entries were received from 13 countries. Of this total, 15 schools were then shortlisted for the final exhibition.

Primary Maths Challenge Bonus Round Results are published
13th March 201810 pupils from Year 6 scored highly enough in PMC last term to be invited to sit the Bonus Round this term. The top 4.7% of entrants were chosen to enter the Bonus round, so even being selected was a huge achievement.

14th December 2017Our Carol Concert took place in the Holy Trinity Church, Claygate on Wednesday 12th December. The whole of the Prep School took part in the service and the Senior, Junior and Chamber choir sang some wonderful arrangements.

The Seniors visit the Thames Flood Barrier

U6 Scholars Review ‘Romeo and Juliet’ at the Globe Theatre
9th June 2017On Thursday 24th May our U6 scholars travelled to the Globe Theatre in London to see Romeo and Juliet. The theatre was built to look as close to the original Globe theatre as possible so we were interested to see what it would have looked like when William Shakespeare was writing and working there.
