Remembrance Day 2019
As is tradition at Milbourne, we held our annual Remembrance Service on Monday 11th November. During Assembly Mrs Waite spoke about the effects of the First World War and why we come together at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month each year to remember those who died in battle. Zara recited the poem ‘In Flanders Field‘ and Hoa-Tinh read an excerpt from War Horse. William read the poem ‘The Wound in Time’ by Carol Ann Duffy. Following Assembly, we gathered around our Remembrance installation to mark the two minutes silence as the guns of the military salute in London echoed in the background. Our service culminated in a special performance from Jack who recited his own ‘Remembrance Reflection’.
