Milbourne ‘Skipathon’ raises over £2.5k for The Garden Route Charity Trust
‘Skipping to Give’ was the moto in Pre-Prep on Be Well Day 2021
We were delighted to have Ruth Burns visit us from the Garden Route Charity Trust this morning. She spoke to the children in Assembly about the amazing work that the charity does in South Africa. The charity runs a feeding programme which provides breakfast for children in townships and schools, who would otherwise not have anything to eat. The Pre-Prep children were delighted to present the charity with £2962.95 which they raised by participating in a ‘Skipathon’ on Be Well Day. Ruth told the children that this would enable 150 children to be fed for an entire year! Thank you to all the children and parents for supporting this wonderful charity, we have been absolutely overwhelmed by your generosity.
One of the strands of this year’s Cognita Global Be Well Day was ‘giving’. Our Pre-Prep children decided to take part in a ‘Skiapthon’ to raise money for people less fortunate than ourselves. The children also took part in a zoom call with a school in South Africa that has benefited from the help that The Garden Route Charity provides.
