Celebrating the ’20th’ World Book Day
Fantastic fun was had by the children and teachers in Pre-Prep today as we celebrated the ‘20th’ World Book Day.
The children looked fantastic dressed as their favourite book characters. We saw a complete range from traditional tale characters such as Red Riding Hood, to the World’s No.1 storyteller, Roald Dahl’s – Willy Wonka.
The morning started with a story followed by a variety of activities, from ‘green egg’ chocolate making to the Lorax collaging. A selection of Pre-Prep children then took part in the whole school assembly. It was impressive to see them reading extracts from books, as well as some of their own creative writing. The children truly rose to the occasion, speaking both clearly and confidently.
In the afternoon, the children enjoyed taking part in the parade and were thrilled to take part in our first ever book swap.
Many thanks to parents for the wonderful costumes and for your kind donations which will be going to Book Aid. We managed to raise £168.40 which will help to send 85 books to Africa- well done everybody!
