Music & Creative Arts

Pupils are encouraged to play a musical instrument and to join the school orchestra and choir. There is also a string band, swing band, string quartet and several other ensembles. Younger children learn the recorder as part of the curriculum.

There are more than a dozen peripatetic music staff catering for almost all instruments, and there are termly concerts allowing pupils to showcase their talents.The Art in the school is of a very high standard and pupils regularly win prizes in national competitions.This recently included winning the Best School Award in the Young Art Competition held annually in London.The children’s work adorns the walls of the dining room and main building and there is a full exhibition of art every July.

The Art and IT departments work closely together on film and animation projects.

There is a Leavers' play produced at the end of the Summer term.
