Girls at Milbourne

The community of girls at Milbourne Lodge is a long standing and thriving one. Traditionally there has always been a higher proportion of boys at the school than girls but many parents choose to send their daughter to Milbourne to take advantage of the very highest standards of education that we offer.

The girls integrate with the boys throughout the school. Additionally, they have their own sporting programme, playing games every day, and compete against other schools at netball in the autumn and winter terms and rounders and tennis in the summer. They have the opportunity to participate in a range of physical activities and the girls also enjoy the experience of competing with the boys for some of their PE lessons.

In recent years girls have won scholarships to Wycombe Abbey, Marlborough and Benenden and girls take Common Entrance to a wide range of schools, both day and boarding, including Epsom College, Lady Eleanor Holles and St. Paul's Girls School.

In 2010 Mrs Judy Waite was appointed Head of Girls to champion their role within the school:

"It is my job to nurture their intellectual curiosity, individual characters and talents within this small, special community so that they can all fulfil their potential and approach their future schools with optimism and confidence.  In my role as Head of Girls, I am very much looking forward to playing my part in ensuring that they develop their current creative energy and spirit, just some of the ingredients that define a successful Milbourne Girl."
