Art and Design
At Milbourne Lodge we believe that Art and Design is a very important component of a balanced and rounded education. We are committed to helping our boys and girls experience, value and enjoy Art, Craft and Design as a means of communication and creative expression.
All pupils are taught Art and Design through a broad and challenging programme of study which strikes a balance between theory and practice. An interest in culture, history and traditions of art is also strongly encouraged.
National Art competitions, in two and three dimensions, are frequently entered by all the pupils with much success. Scholarship Art is taught outside the timetable and these pupils will develop their own course of study which will be presented in an individual portfolio of work for their chosen senior school.
There are strong links between the Art and ICT departments at Milbourne Lodge. Numerous joint projects in Art and ICT have been undertaken, for all ages, providing exciting and new techniques such as animation, film making and design media.
