Music

All pupils are encouraged to play a musical instrument, or to join the school choir. Flute, oboe, clarinet, violin, cello, trumpet, piano, percussion and recorder are taught. Theory of Music lessons are also available. Lessons are mostly during Games time, but every effort is made to ensure that boys and girls do not miss team practices and matches.

There is a school orchestra, wind band, string orchestra and choir. For the more advanced pupils, quartet and ensemble classes are offered. These all take place during the lunch hour. Any child who already plays an instrument is expected to join one/or more of the orchestras.

Music Scholarships have been won to Public Schools (see Music Scholarhips).
